Homestake Creek begins around 10,500 feet up in the Sawatch Mountains and is quickly dammed into Homestake Reservoir, which supplies Aurora and Colorado Springs with their water. Although you probably won't catch any "monsters" in this creek, the trout are abundant and not too discriminating. The average fisherman should have no trouble getting their share of rainbows, browns, or brookies.
